I still take pride that so many people still get excited for Back to the Future.
I like to brag about my dad because who wouldn’t like to boast that their father built that exact time board and the incredible DeLorean time machine itself. (There were two used actually.) Oh, and all the clocks ticking in the beginning, the automatic kitchen scene, his truck was the one Marty held onto to hitch a ride, the infamous flames trails left behind from the car, the smoke, the lightning, and every other special effect and moving part.
Why yes, I think so.
Furr by Blitzen Trapper
Yeah, when I was only seventeen
I could hear the angels whispering
So I drove into the woods
And wandered aimlessly about
Until I heard my mother shouting through the fog
It turned out to be the howling of a dog
Or a wolf, to be exact
The sound sent shivers down my back
But I was drawn into the pack and before long
They allowed me to join in and sing their song
So from the cliffs and highest hills
Yeah, we would gladly get our fill
Howling endlessly and shrilly at the dawn
And I lost the taste for judging right from wrong
For my flesh had turned to fur
Yeah, and my thoughts they surely were
Turned to instinct and obedience to God
You can wear your fur
Like a river on fire
But you’d better be sure
If you’re making God a liar
I’m a rattlesnake, babe,
I’m like fuel on fire
So if you’re gonna get made
Don’t be afraid of what you’ve learned
On the day that I turned 23
I was curled up underneath a dogwood tree
When suddenly a girl
Her skin the color of a pearl
She wandered aimlessly, but she didn’t seem to see
She was listening for the angels just like me
So I stood and looked about
I brushed the leaves off of my snout
And then I heard my mother shouting through the trees
You should have seen that girl go shaky at the knees
So I took her by the arm
We settled down upon a farm
And raised our children up as gently as you please
And now my fur has turned to skin
And I’ve been quickly ushered in
To a world that, I confess, I do not know
But I still dream of running careless through the snow
Through the howling winds that blow
Across the ancient distant flow
To fill our bodies up like water till we know
You can wear your fur
Like a river on fire
But you’d better be sure
If you’re making God a liar
I’m a rattlesnake, babe,
I’m like fuel on fire
So if you’re gonna get made
Don’t be afraid of what you’ve learned
I have the rest of this week and next week to figure out someone to cosplay as for Anime Expo…
Are there any characters out there that are simple to acomplish/yet still fun to be? I never feel like I could protray a character well enough. I’ve always been dissapointed by Inuyasha impersonators because well, obviously, no one is better than the character in the book. (Fangirl moment, escuse me) So I’d hate to not give the character the justice it deserves.
I was thinking Chi from Chobits, not that my eyes are even big enough nor am I a dainty pretty girl, but because the ears are easy enough to make and a simple lace dress/covered in ribbons would do the trick. All I would need is a long blonde wig and hair cuffs. :/ But I don’t watch nearly enough new animes to know of anyone I could pull off…
Edit: Siena is right, I certainly don’t need to watch new animes to get a good costume, but all the animes/mangas I know I don’t feel I can acomplish. I would LOVE to be kiki from Kiki’s delivery service and Chris even agreed to be Tom but… One costume is hard enough to make, let alone two. Though the little voice in my head is saying ” I think we’d be supah cute ;3” and its trying to manipulate me into working twice as hard.
Any ideas?
